ZULU ROYAL REED DANCE .
September month is tourism and Heritage month whereby people remind themselves
the importance of their heritage. Different Cultural activities take place during the course of September.
On 24 September is a public holiday to celebrate heritage day.
Within the uPhongolo area there are more than a thousand maidens that are participating in the Annual Reed Dance that takes place at eNyokeni Royal Palace.While we are saying let us fight HIV-AIDS, we need to encourage maidens to attend such ceremony. uPhongolo Municipality forms part of this ceremony by encouraging and transporting maidens to eNykeni Royal Palace.This event take place on 31 August 2013.
